New Southwest Fabric Line

At Terrific Tuesday this month we unveiled our new bolts of Southwestern Fabric. Aren't these beautiful?! They would make such a lovely southwest quilt, fun aprons or casserole dish carriers, or even "festive" pot holders!

BYU Living Legends

The BYU Living Legends group is coming to Silver City for an incredible performance!

"Celebrating the native cultural heritage of North and South America and the South Pacific, Living Legends presents a vibrant spectacle of energy, music, costume, and dance. As they take the stage, talented performers of native descent capture the rhythms of Polynesia, portray the fascinating legends of Native American people, and dazzle the senses with the energy of Latin America. Join us at the WNMU FACT on February 24th at 7:30pm for this wonderful performance! Tickets are available here in the store or at Alotta Gelato. Adult tickets are $10 and under 17 is $7. Customer Quilt Featured in McCall's Quilting Magazine

For any of you who get the McCall's Quilting magazine, you'll get to see the beautiful work of a store customer, Louise Payne, in the March/April 2015 issue. 

Emilee Goutcher, Louise's youngest daughter, was so sweet to send us these photos and the back story. "My grandmother, Margaret L. Windham, made wedding quilts for each of her grandchildren except for me. She passed before I met Chip. My mom really wanted us to have a 'Gramsy Quilt' for our wedding and painstakingly took her time to pick a quilt pattern, and fabric etc. I talked her into using some black, which she had never used before in a quilt and she ended up winning the Blue Ribbon, 1st Place,& Best in Show Award for this quilt at the 2014 Hildalgo County Fair. The back of the quilt has a little block that says 'For Emilee and Chip Goutcher, the "Wedding Ring Quilt", made by Louise E. W. Payne, Gramsy approved'." We love seeing all the hard work you all put into your incredible creations. Thank you so much Emilee and Louise for sharing this fun magazine feature with us!

Consignment Items for Sale

Aunt Judy's Attic has teamed up with some of the ladies that frequent the store to offer you some great consignment items. There are so many talented people that come through our doors, we love highlighting their skills and helping them share their work. 

Near the east door we have a whole rack of beautiful and fun aprons made by Lawanna. She has aprons with seasonal fabric, southwest fabric, chile fabric, flowers, country, etc. 

All around the store you can find various creative work done by Randi White. These range from a lovely bouquet to brighten your home, to cute jars ready to be filled, to recipe holders and painted signs.

Hanging near the specialty yarns we carry you can find Sherelle's lovely scarves. She has a variety of colors, sizes, and textures of these incredibly gorgeous and trendy scarves.

Right next to the scarves you can find beautiful pieced pincushions by Claudia. These would make lovely gifts for a friend, or a beautiful addition to your own sewing station. 

Quilts of Valor Sew In

On February 7th, in honor of the National Sew Day for Quilts of Valor, we will be hosting a Quilts of Valor sew in here at the store from 10am to 2pm. These beautiful quilts are made to "cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor." -http://www.qovf.org/

These quilts are lovingly made by volunteers across the nation to give to the men and women who have served to protect each of us. What a beautiful way to show thanks and gratitude!

Recently a few members of the Southwest New Mexico Quilters Guild presented some of the Grant County with completed Quilts of Valor.

"A Quilt of Valor can really get around, I found out during the presentation. A quilt top may be started here in Silver City, then be sent over to Texas for binding, then maybe Utah for the quilting stitches and at every stop a passionate volunteer opens their heart and gets busy pouring their love into every stitch and all this is done with a Veteran in mind. Wow, I cannot begin to explain the love and emotions that this creates."
