Wow! A brand New Year is here and with it comes great new classes. We are excited about many things at the store. New products, new fabric (10 great new batkis), sales,and just lots of fun. I hope for all of you a super New Year and hope to see you often durning 2011. Classes are listed to the right for January and February with some great pictures following here.

Torn Fabric Wreath Class

This will be a great class that also has great possibilities for adding great seasonal decorations to you home. This wreath is done for Valentines, but imagine one with great spring colored fabrics and even plastic Easter eggs!

Magic Strips and Squares Class

Sat Jan 22nd and a second class on Tue Feb 15th.

I made a Valentine's table runner with this great method, but you could make quilts, baby blankets,and a whole bunch more. The techniques is easy and requires basic quilting tools.

Wouldn't these be so cute for all seasons or holidays. Just imagine a bright pink or red set with lace showing at the legs or shamrocks, easter eggs, etc. Come learn how to make these easy creations and then let you imagination flow.

Wow, what a great summer we have had. Deanna has been very busy and has the store all prepared for this my favorite season. We have a super lineup of classes coming in September ands some of them are already getting filled up fast. I'll comment on a few of them here. Many of the ladies from our card making classes wanted to have a stamp swap. There will be table space in the classroom at the store on Sept 11th, come bring your unwanted wood mount or clear stamps and trade or buy at low prices. Also starting that day and running for the remainder of September we will be having a 40 percent off sale at the store on all wood mount stamps. This will be a fun day and a great opportunity to visit and make great buys so please plan on dropping by.

August Beginnings

Happy August to everyone! What a beautiful month this has been so far, a little warm but beautiful. With August the seasons seem to be slowing changing into my favorite one of the year, Fall. The kids are back in school and things seem to just calm down a touch. And many people start thinking about all those projects they want to work on. To help you with those great creations, I have added some laces to the inventory and of course we have a good supply of ribbons. We also are carrying a lot of flowers, suitable for making all those great hair decorations that all the cool girls are wearing these days. Come by the store to look around and visit.

Wow, what a great summer this has been. We have had lots of great rain and things are so green. I can't believe that it is almost time for school to start here again. I have decided to celebrate the last good days of summer with a week long 20% off Fabric Sale, Saturday July 31 - Friday Aug 6. Select fabrics in the store will be on sale, so come in and add to your stash or buy what you need to start on that project you have been putting off. And coming soon look for great quilt kits in the store.

I am also now doing long arm quilting for customers. Here is a quilt I was able to quilt for my friend Nelda Brown. I have many patterns and thread to choose from.

We also have a scrapbooking class running every Monday from 2-3:30pm where we make a double page layout. The cost is $8.00 and all materials will be supplied (except adhesives) but please bring your own scissors. The kits for these pages are made in advance so please allow a weeks notice for each class.

March Winds Are We Suprised?

Well we all knew they were coming, Springs Winds!!! So to better endure the winds and what they bring I thought I would let you know some of the items we have at the store to combat those cold blustry days.

Happy February to Everyone

I have just updated the calender for March and April so be sure to take a look. We are having some fantastic classes coming up. Classes have been filling up fast so if you are interested please call 388-1620 to sign-up.

Here is a picture from the March 22nd Quilted Sweatshirt Class. This will be a great class taught by Donna Theis, a very talented and kind lady. Wouldn't this look so great in Fall or Christmas fabrics? Always plan ahead, great Christmas gift!

This one is from the March 31st class, Patchwork Posey taught by Lucinda Maddox. Think of the possibilities, the block in this technique are made from 1 fabric. Lucinda is a fantastic teacher.

Brrr ! We finally got winter here ! So to warm you up a bit here are pictures from the next two quilting classes we are offering. The 1st one is this Wed and we still have a few openings, call 388-1620 sign-up today, here is the picture for it.

This is called Fast and Fun Quilting because you quilt and bind as you go. Great class with a great teacher, Lucinda Maddox.

Next class is on Wed Feb 3rd. It is a Heart Log Cabin Class taught by super quilter Jude Casco. This looks like a difficult creation but she assures me it is not. What a neat gift to make for yourself or someone else. Get a jump start on Christmas giving.

It is unbelievable how long I neglected this blog, sorry. I promise to be better. Hope that you had a super Christmas and are looking forward as I am to 2010.

Here is one reason I forgot about the blog. My new toy. This is my new quilting machine and I am having so much fun playing with it.

Please also note that I have updated the Class Schedule on the right. Lots of fun!!!

Another cool thing we are doing in January is a Name The New Toy Contest. Anyone can participate!

Just think of a name for Judy’s new quilting machine. I will of course be the final judge and remember I love originality. The winner of this contest will receive free quilting on one quilt.

So come in and give it your best try. And sign up for classes.

I hope that everyone gets out on Sat and helps to celebrate our great country! For some of the day I will be at the park in the Southwest New Mexico Quillters Guild booth. Come by and see us there, we will be working on quilts and selling raffle tickets. On what you ask, well on 3 superb quilts at our Quilt Show in Oct and Nov. Here is a picture of one of the quilts.

We are finally getting some RAIN!!!!!!Hurray!
I just wanted to post some pictures of the fantastic cards we will be making in Card Divas Class this week. Card Creator Extraordinaire, Nicole Chase has outdone herself again with these beauties.
Just to let everyone know, I would be glad to have another Card Divas Class if there is enough interest. Just call 388-1620 and let me know if you would be interested and when would work best for you. We make 4 cards a week from prepared kits for $8.00, That's alto cheaper than a therapist and loads more fun.

Wow, how time passes by, it's already the middle of June. Well July's class schedule is final. Lots of classes, lots of fun. To sign-up or for more info call 388-1620.

So what is new with everyone? Are your gardens growing? Mine is doing good, lots of blooming squash and got my first bell pepper yesterday!!!

I just got in some new fabrics (quilt divas, hold your breath) they are some 30's Reporduction Fabrics. So come in and see them and try not to drool to much. I even included a couple of pictures for you. Also Diane and Randi have been very busy cutting and bundling Jelly Strudels, my version of a jelly-roll, but cheaper and these are non-fattening.

Good Morning To Everyone!!!

Hope that things are going great for you. This little flag banner will be a super fun class that I am offering twice during June. Mon the 1st and again on Sat the 20th. It is easy and a great way to show your patriotism. So call 388-1620 to sign-up. This will be a kit class so you don't even have to go looking for fabrics.

Look at this neat Travel Kit. This will be another fantastic class on Mon Jun 15th. Here it is shown with quilting or sewing stuff, but the possibilities for this are so many. One young lady that will be taking the class wants to make it to keep all her stationary-writing instruments in. Hint: These would also make great Christmas gifts, filled with whatever your hearts desire.

Crochet Crochet Everywhere

How many times have you said you would like to learn to crochet? Well, we are giving you that opportunity. On Mon May 11th at 10:30 am Cheryl Fisher will be teaching "1st Stitches in Crochet". You will learn all the stitches needed to make this great cloche hat. It will be lots of fun. Call 388-1620 to sign-up.

This past Sat we had a super Broomstick Lace Crochet Class taught by Joella McNally. Six ladies learned how to make this easy stitch. They all were really excited and got in a lot of visiting too. Joella said she would be glad to do another class, so e-mail me if you might be interested.

Many of you may have seen reference to this new, fantastic paper line. It was the hit at many shows already this year. And we have it, in a rainbow of colors, including the great Chocolate Line.

I just wanted to invite everyone to the Glenwood Batts Quilt Show on Sat Apr 18th from 9-3 at the Glenwood Community Center. They have invited me to be a vendor, along with several other businesses. It will be lots of fun and a great opportunity to get out and see some of the fantastic quilting talent from the Southwest. Hope to see you there.
